FAQ

Not sure which class you need?

Easy to sort out. If you're a nurse, medic, or provider renewing for your role, you want BLS, ACLS, or PALS, and most people pair them in a combo. If you're around kids or need first aid for work but you're not in a medical role, Heartsaver is yours. And if you're certifying a whole class or office, that's what our group and cohort classes are for. Still stuck? Just message us, we'll point you to the right one.

Will you just sign me off?

Nope. You will walk away being confident with the information, and not just holding a card. We understand the courses can be long, but we will make it very relatable and applicable to YOUR job. We'll be right there with you the whole time (and maybe with some cookies!)

Do I really have to take the pre-course?

Yes. For ACLS and PALS it's required, no exceptions. This is an AHA requirement. You must take the pre-course. The pre-course it's at your own pace, and can be paused and resumed anytime. This is where you will watch most of the course videos, that way you don't come to our classroom just to watch videos.

How much is the pre-course?

The pre-courses can be found on the AHA website, starting at $150.

What if I don't pass?

You have unlimited attempts at the pre-course self assessment. Once in class, we will make sure you pass the course and the final written test.

What do I need to bring to class?

For ACLS and PALS: a printed copy of your pre-course certificate of completion and passing score sheet (70% or higher). This must be printed and brought with you to the class, or we cannot submit your course to the American Heart Association. Bring your manual to class!

Where do I find my certification card after class?

Once we submit your course to AHA, you will receive an email from AHA directly, telling you when your e-card is ready. Usually takes about 24-48 hours after submission. You can look it up on their site anytime! ecards.heart.org (RUSH ORDERS AVAILABLE)

Do you offer continuing education credits?

Yes. We're aligned with a local training center that issues valid in-person CEs along with your certification.

Do you teach groups or nursing cohorts?

All the time. Nursing cohorts are a big part of what we do, usually ACLS and PALS together before graduation. We take up to 24 students at a time, and for bigger cohorts we run a few classes. Head to our Nursing Cohorts page for how it works, or reach out and we'll set it up.

Can you come to us?

Yes. For groups, we'll travel to your campus, office, or wherever your people are, up to 24 at a time, with no travel fee. Message us with a rough headcount and timeframe and we'll find a date.

Pick your course. We'll see you there.

Every class is an American Heart Association course, with valid in-person continuing education. You'll spend a few hours with Sam and Nicole, the two people who've actually lived this work, and you’ll walk away confident in your skills.
